Commission on Accreditation

The Council of Arts Accreditation Associations (CAAA) operates the Accrediting Commission for Community and Precollegiate Arts Schools (ACCPAS) to review institutions and programs that offer arts study for children, youth, and adults not associated with postsecondary degrees or credentials.

Contact with the Commission on Accreditation should be made through the ACCPAS Staff.

The ACCPAS Commission on Accreditation consists of six voting members. The Chair and the Public Member of the Commission on Accreditation are appointed by the CAAA Board of Trustees. Four members are elected respectively by each constituent member of CAAA (NASAD, NASD, NASM, and NAST) and ratified by the CAAA Board of Trustees. ACCPAS has expertise in art and design, dance, music, and theatre. Except for the public member, each member must have extensive accreditation experience.
