Renee Griswold

Renee Griswold began her work with Milwaukee Ballet in 1997 and has held several positions such as School Administrator and Faculty. In 2002, she was promoted to her current role of School & Academy General Manager.

Ms. Griswold has served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Dance Council and on the writing team Wisconsin Department of Public instruction Standards for Dance Education. For the national arts accrediting organizations, Ms. Griswold is a Visiting Evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD) and the Accrediting Commission for Community and Precollegiate Arts Schools (ACCPAS). She has also served on the Committee of Nominations for NASD and is currently on the ACCPAS Commission for Accreditation. Outside of the dance world, Ms. Griswold is on the Board of Directors for Whitecaps Baseball as Vice President and Secretary.

Prior to her work with Milwaukee Ballet, Ms. Griswold was responsible for the Connecting Communities program, Community Gallery, and was a lead teacher in the arts-based preschool program at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Ms. Griswold earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance (K-12 Teaching Certification) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While at UWM, Ms. Griswold studied under Ed Burgess, Marcia Parsons, Ferne Bronson, served as rehearsal assistant to Andre Tyson, and to Janet Lily during collaboration between UWM Dance Majors and the Professional Theatre Training Program. She has also performed professionally with Wildspace Dance Company and Danceworks Performance Company in Milwaukee.
